New Directions is registered with the Care Quality Commission, the regulator of Health and Social Care services and complies with the CQC’s fundamental standards of care.
Three New Directions services received an unannounced visit in October 2015 by the CQC and all three services received an overall rating of ‘Good’.

National Autistic Society (NAS) and Autism Accreditation
The NAS are the leading UK charity for Autistic people (including those with Asperger’s syndrome). The NAS provide information, support and campaign for a better world for Autistic People.
New Directions received Accreditation from the National Autistic Society in February 2015 following several monitoring visits to observe practice within our services.
The NAS Autism Accreditation is awarded to services and organisation as an indicator that they are following the latest standards of good practice for supporting people with autism and are committed to continuously improving the support they provide.
These standards are set by independent experts, including people with autism, and reflect the latest autism research and understanding.
We work with the NAS to ensure we are continuously meeting and exceeding these standards via a process of self-evaluation, peer communities and peer review.
East of England Workbook
“The East of England (EoE) workbook has been adopted by the regional authorities to help provide a consistent approach in monitoring and benchmarking of providers. It has been designed to gather evidence from various sources: ‘the six workbook assessment areas’, to establish whether the service standards and outcomes for service users are being met. It is therefore important that officers are familiar with the specification as well as the EoE Standards and outcomes for the service that they are monitoring.”
Our services receive annual monitoring inspections from local authorities, results of which will be published on this website.
